New MCACA Grants Initiative
The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) announces a pilot initiative to fund cultural, historical, heritage and science-based organizations administering programs compatible with the Michigan Arts Plan. Grants of up to $30,000 will be offered under the Cultural Projects Program for projects completed between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2001.

Guidelines now available. Application deadline: Oct. 20, 2000. Funding level for this pilot program will not be determined until Sept. 15.

Components of the program are:

Heritage, for projects that present the highest quality activities to broad audiences, provide greater access to and the use of historic collections and contribute to the understanding of Michigan's rich cultural heritage
Science, for projects that explore the interrelationship between science literacy and cultural understanding and expression.
